Candy Database · Documentation

Settings Open the settings with Database > Settings... or the button at the right of the top bar. Every change applies at once and is saved in the editor's settings, so it is the same in all your projects. The settings are sorted in four tabs: General, Layout, Look and Databases. A mod can add settings of its own, in a tab named after the mod. When a mod adds one, a second row of tabs appears at the top of the window: the Candy Database tab, which contains the four tabs, followed by the mods' tabs. General Tab Tab name is the name of Candy Database's tab in the editor's top bar, beside 2D, 3D and Script. Leave it empty for Candy DB. The tab is renamed as soon as you press Enter or leave the field. Language Preferred language lists the languages to read in, most wanted first, separated by commas (Français, English). A database opens in the first of these languages it contains, or else in its own default language, until you pick a language for it in the sidebar. Changing this setting forgets the languages picked in the sidebar. Layout Layout
SettingWhat it does
SidebarLeft or right.
Text sizeThe size of the page's text, from 8 to 40. View > Increase / Decrease / Reset Text Size changes it too.
Text width limitThe widest the text gets, in pixels, centered in the page. Long lines are hard to read on a wide screen. 0 lets the text fill the page.
Two pages For when two pages are open (see The interface).
SettingWhat it does
Second page opensWhere the second page goes: left, right, above or below the first.
Page listThe list marks the first page in the theme's selection color. Mark the second page in a color of its own marks the second in Second page's color (also shown at the left of its bar); untick it to mark both alike.
Second page's colorStarts out as the theme's. Once you choose one, it is yours; Back to the theme's colors and no background images, in the Look tab, takes it back.
Look Theme Look of the tab chooses the theme: the colors and shapes of the bars, menus, buttons and sidebar. See Themes. Colors and background Background, text, link and code colors, and an optional background image with a fit (Cover fills the page keeping its proportions, Stretch fills it, Tile repeats it) and an opacity. The colors start out as the theme's. Once you choose one, it is yours and stays when you change the theme. Back to the theme's colors and no background images takes them all back. Header background The header is the banner a database can show above its pages (see Header and footer). Here you can give it a color or an image of its own. Same as the page leaves it transparent, so it shows the page's background. Footer background The same settings, for the footer a database can show below its pages. Databases Database styles and themes A database can ask for its own page colors and background (its style), and for its own look for the whole tab (its theme). You decide whether it gets its way:
  • Ignore every database theme keeps the theme you chose for every database.
  • Each database that has a style or a theme gets its own checkboxes: use its own style and use its own theme. Untick one to keep yours for that database.
