The Timer_Status command modifies the timers of open menus: their duration, their remaining loops, and whether they are running. Changes are applied when the Dialogue returns to the menu, for example after a Continue choice or a Timeout Block. Two filters, on menus and timers, select the timers to modify.
Keys
Every key also accepts a ¢ expression instead of a fixed value, unless its description says otherwise. See CandyRef Expressions.
Menu_Mode
Description:
Which open menus are modified. The value is case-insensitive.
Values:
• Last: The innermost open menu.
• Tags: The open menus with a tag listed in Menu_Tags.
• All: Every open menu.
• Empty: Not valid. A warning is reported, and nothing is changed.
Menu_Tags
Description:
The tags of the menus to modify when Menu_Mode is Tags. They are matched whole and case-insensitively.
Values:
• Tags: A comma-separated list.
Timer_Mode
Description:
Which timers of those menus are modified. The value is case-insensitive.
Values:
• Last: The menu's most recently expired timer.
• Tags: The timers with a tag listed in Timer_Tags.
• All: Every timer, except those with a tag listed in Timer_Tags.
• Empty: Not valid. A warning is reported, and nothing is changed.
Timer_Tags
Description:
Tags of the timers to include when Timer_Mode is Tags, or to exclude when it is All. They are matched whole and case-insensitively.
Values:
• Tags: A comma-separated list.
Time
Description:
The timers' new countdown duration, which never drops below 0. A value that isn't a number is reported, and the duration is left unchanged.
Values:
• Number: Set the duration to that many seconds.
• +N / -N: Increase or decrease the duration by N seconds.
• *N / /N: Multiply or divide the duration by N.
• Empty: No change.
Timer_Node
Description:
What a Time change does to a countdown that is already running.
Values:
• Ignore: Apply the new duration from the next start.
• Restart: Restart the countdown with the new duration.
• Update: Restart the countdown only if the new duration is shorter than the remaining time.
• Empty: Ignore.
Loops
Description:
The number of remaining countdowns, including one in progress. Inside the timer's own Timeout Block, the expiry that just occurred has already been counted, so 3 means three more. A timer whose count reaches 0 stops, even mid-countdown. Relative changes don't affect a timer that repeats indefinitely.
Values:
• Number: Set the number of remaining countdowns.
• +N / -N: Add or remove N countdowns; -1 removes one, rather than meaning indefinitely.
• *N / /N: Multiply or divide the remaining countdowns by N.
• 0, inf or !: Repeat indefinitely. In Choice_List, 0 means 1.
• Empty: No change.
Status
Description:
Starts, pauses or stops the timers. The value is case-sensitive. A later Timer_Status on the same timer replaces this one. A timer with no remaining countdowns can't start or resume, so add some first, for example with a Loops of +1.
Values:
• Start/Resume: Start the timer, or resume it if it is paused.
• Pause: Pause the timer.
• Stop: Stop the timer.
• - or empty: No change.
