If
The If command runs a Command when its condition is true. It opens an If chain: the Elif and Else commands that directly follow it, at the same depth, only run if no earlier branch of the chain has. Keys Every key also accepts a ¢ expression instead of a fixed value, unless its description says otherwise. See CandyRef Expressions. Condition Description: The test that decides whether Commands runs. It must start with ¢: plain text is rejected as an error, so that a missing symbol can't silently pass the test. A condition that fails to evaluate is reported, and Blocks the whole If chain, including Else. Values: • ¢ expression: Such as ¢globals.gold > 5 or ¢globals.has_key. Type Description: The name of the Command contained in Commands. Candy Dialogue Creator reads it to select the Command to edit; Candy Dialogue Engine only prints it in debug messages. Values: • Command name: Such as Set. Commands Description: The Command to run when Condition is true, as a Dictionary with the Command's name as key and its keys as value, such as {"Set": {...}}. A Dictionary can only contain each Command name once, so to run several Commands, place them in a Block and Bridge to it. This key isn't evaluated. Values: • Command: Any Command, with its own keys.
