The Role command assigns an Actor to a Role, or clears the Role. Commands can then refer to the Role (such as °guard) instead of a specific Actor, so the same Dialogue works with whichever Actor fills the Role. See Roles.

Every key also accepts a ¢ expression instead of a fixed value, unless its description says otherwise. See CandyRef Expressions.
Role
Description:
The Role to assign.
Values:
• Role name: Such as guard, with or without the ° symbol.
Reference
Description:
The Actor to assign to the Role.
Values:
• Actor Reference: A key of the actors dictionary, such as Alice.
• °role: The Actor currently assigned to that other Role.
• Empty: Clear the Role.
