The Bridge command runs another Block, then resumes at the Line after the Bridge once that Block ends or a Return exits it, like a function call. Bridged Blocks can bridge to further Blocks in turn. It also calls the x_bridge() hook before the other Block runs, so your code can respond to the change of Block. See Hook Functions.
