Subtitles
The Subtitles UI Element displays Lines in Subtitles mode: the spoken text only, with no portrait or speaker label.
  • Script: Subtitles_UI.gd
  • Templates: Scenes/Subtitles
  • Updates: the script is 'unsafe', and so is every template except Default.tscn (see Customizing UI Elements, on the UI page)
  • Engine path: subtitles_path in ui_elements_paths
  • Settings: see Subtitles Mode

dialogue_nodeRequired. RichTextLabel: the spoken text.
voice_nodeRequired. The voice player for these Subtitles (see Voice Players).
With no speaker label, the speaker's name is written at the start of the text instead (subtitles_show_speaker, on by default). Hook Functions x_write_begun(), x_write_progress(), x_write_finished() and x_speech_advance(), called on the Subtitles: see Speech Display.
