Other Input
Two Commands concern the player's input without an Input scene: Player_Advance waits for a key press, and Mouse sets the mouse mode. Player Advance A Player_Advance command pauses the Dialogue until the player presses the advance input, without displaying anything: a pause before a reveal, or before a cutscene the player starts at their own pace. The command has no keys. The input is the action named by the Engine's input_player_advance setting, Dialogue_Advance by default (see Input Keys). Unlike a Spoken Line, the command never advances on its own: no auto-advance applies to it. It ignores the input while the Engine's input_enabled setting is off, and while the Dialogue is suspended. Mouse A Mouse command sets the mouse mode for the Lines that follow: whether the cursor is visible, and whether it is confined to the window. Its Mouse_Mode key names the mode: visible, hidden, captured, confined or confined_hidden, as Godot defines them. Three values apply one of the Engine's own modes instead, set in the Inspector under the Mouse Mode category: • dialogue_start: mouse_mode_start, the mode the Engine sets when a Dialogue starts. • dialogue_end: mouse_mode_end, the mode it restores when a Dialogue ends. • choice: mouse_mode_choice, the default mode for choice menus. An empty or unknown value leaves the mouse mode unchanged. See Mouse.
