Customization
Candy Dialogue Creator reads what it knows about Commands, dropdowns, checks, themes and languages from files when it starts, so a new Command, a new theme or a new language is added by adding a file. This section is for developers, and for anyone who edits text files. The rest of this documentation covers what is done from the interface.

  • Mods: where these files are placed.
  • Data Files: every file Candy Dialogue Creator stores, and its format.
Layouts, presets and inserts are also files that can be shared, but they are created from the interface: see Saved Layouts, Presets and Inserts. The Godot Project Candy Dialogue Creator is also available as a Godot project, whose code is meant to be read and modified. What a mod can't add, the project can: new Panels and widgets are added there. This documentation doesn't cover the code: every script of the project starts with a comment that explains its role.
