Speech Editor
The Speech Editor is the text box a Variation's text is written in. It displays the Variation picked in the Variation Selector that has the same reference.
It edits plain text: BBCode tags are displayed as typed. To see the text formatted while you write, use the Advanced Speech Editor instead.
Writing
The name of the Variation is displayed above the text. Type in the box.
- The text is written to the Dialogue when you leave the box, pick another Variation or move to another Line. Each of these is one undo step.
- Typing in a Variation the Line doesn't have yet creates it. The box then says "Type to write the … variation."
- Emptying the text retains the Variation in the Line, but a Variation with no text isn't exported.
| Option | Description |
| Reference | The Variation Selector this editor follows. |
| Random tag | As selected displays the Variation that is picked. A random tag, such as #2, displays that random Variation of the picked one instead. |
| Show the TTS variation | Displays the TTS twin of the picked Variation: the text passed to text-to-speech. |
| Show the variation name | Off leaves more room for the text. |
| Text, Background | The colors of the text and of the box. |
| Font | The font of the text, picked among the font files of the fonts folder. Theme font displays the text in the interface's font. |
| Text size | The size of the text. 0 displays it at the interface's text size. |
| Minimum Size, Maximum Size | The minimum and maximum size of the widget's area. |
#1 in another, its TTS twin in a third. For more than a few, the Variation Editor performs this on its own.
