Windows
Candy Dialogue Creator can spread over several windows, for example one per screen: the Dialogue Navigator and the Dialogue Editor on one, the portrait, the voice and the documentation on another. Opening a Window
  • Window > New Window (Ctrl+Shift+N) opens a window with one Area.
  • In Edit Layout mode, Open in New Window in an Area's + menu opens a window with a new Panel of the same kind as that Area's.
A new Panel starts with its default settings. To move a Panel you already configured to another window, save it with Save Panel Layout... and load it there with Load Panel Layout. Every window has its own Top Bar, with the same menus and buttons, over its own Areas. A window is laid out like the main one (see Edit Layout). Working Across Windows All windows display the same Dialogue. Panels cooperate across windows exactly as they do within one:
  • A Line clicked in a Navigator opens in the Dialogue Editors that have the same reference, in every window.
  • The Dialogue Buttons act on the Navigator clicked last, wherever it is.
  • Inserts type into the field that had the caret last, in any window.
  • Keyboard shortcuts work in every window.
Two Dialogue Editors with the same reference, one per window, display the same Line. Since each Editor has its own tab and its own line layouts, they can display two different parts of it. Closing a Window
  • The close button of an extra window closes only that window, after a confirmation.
  • Closing the last Area of an extra window closes the window too.
  • The close button of the main window quits Candy Dialogue Creator.
Windows and Layouts The windows are part of the window layout: their number, their place and everything in them. They are restored when the profile is reopened, and they are saved and loaded with Window > Save Layout... and Load Layout. A layout for one screen and another for two can be switched with the quick layouts (see Saved Layouts). The Documentation Window The Documentation window, opened with Help > Documentation, is separate: it isn't part of the layout, and has no Areas. See Documentation Window.
