Dialogue Buttons
The Dialogue Buttons panel is a set of buttons that add items to the Dialogue: Conversations, Blocks, Lines of any Command, and Presets. Which buttons each panel displays is chosen in its Buttons dialog. The default layout has one panel with the most used buttons, and a row of tabs containing one panel per kind of Command.
Dialogue Buttons
The Buttons The buttons act on the selection of the Dialogue Navigator used last.
ButtonWhat it does
ConversationAsks for a name, then adds a Conversation.
BlockAsks for a name, then adds a Block to the selected Conversation.
A Command, such as Spoken LineAdds a Line of that Command.
A PresetInserts a copy of the Preset's Lines.
Insertion Position
  • Click: after the selected Line, or at the end of the selected Block.
  • Ctrl+click: before the selected Line, or at the top of the selected Block.
With several Lines selected, a Line is added at each of them. With a Conversation selected, the Line is added to its last Block, or its first with Ctrl. The new Line is selected, so it opens in the Dialogue Editor at once. Button Selection Right-click the panel and choose Buttons.
  • Displayed, on the left, lists the panel's buttons in their order.
  • Available, on the right, lists everything else: the Conversation and Block buttons, every Command sorted by category, then your Presets sorted by category.

Remove buttonsSelect them in Displayed and press Remove →.
Reorder buttonsDrag them in Displayed.
Start a new rowSelect a button in Displayed and press Add Row: the buttons after it start on a new row.
Select several buttons at once with Ctrl and Shift. Changes are applied to the panel at once. A Preset's button follows its Preset: it's renamed with it, and disappears when the Preset is deleted. The tooltip of a category's heading in Available, when it has one, explains what its Commands are for. Text Event Commands The Text Events category contains Write Speed, Write Pause and Line Portrait. They only work inside a Text Event, made in the Text Event Editor: added to a Dialogue as Lines of their own, they have no effect when the Dialogue runs. So don't display buttons for them: the Text Event Editor's + Command menu lists them anyway. Options Right-click the panel and choose Options.
