Panels
Everything in a Candy Dialogue Creator window is a Panel. Each Panel sits in an Area of the window, and the layout decides which Panels are displayed, where, and how many of each (see Layouts).
PanelWhat it's for
Top BarThe menus, Undo and Redo, Test and Refresh. Always at the top of every window.
Dialogue NavigatorLists the Dialogue's Conversations, Blocks and Lines, to select and organize them.
Dialogue EditorEdits the selected Line.
Dialogue ButtonsButtons that add Conversations, Blocks, Lines and Presets.
InsertsButtons that type text into the field being edited.
Color SelectorPicks a color, and types it or copies it.
TabsContains several Panels in one Area, as tabs.
What Every Panel Shares A right-click menu Right-clicking inside a Panel opens its menu. It always contains Options, the Panel's settings, and may contain actions of its own, such as the Dialogue Buttons panel's Buttons. It also saves and loads the Panel's layout. A few parts of a Panel have a right-click menu of their own, which offers Options too: the rows of the Navigator, insert buttons, tabs and text fields. Options A Panel's Options window starts with its Reference, when it has one, and ends with the Minimum Size and Maximum Size of its Area, in pixels. The Area never shrinks below its minimum size, however the window is resized, and never grows beyond its maximum size: the Area beside it receives the rest. 0 means no limit. When the two conflict, the minimum size wins. A state of its own Each Panel has settings of its own. Two Dialogue Buttons panels can display different buttons, and two Navigators can list different things. A Panel's settings are saved with the layout it is part of. References Panels that work together are linked by a reference: a short text, 1 by default, typed in their Options. A Dialogue Editor edits the Line selected in the Navigators that have the same reference. See References.
